IFR World Championships IGP and IFH 2020 - Hungary

The dates for the IFR World Championships 2020 are known.

Please inform your members that the next World Championship IGP and IFH will be organized in Hungary from 20 – 25 october 2020.

The planned location is AERO HOTEL (SPORT AIRPORT) in the City JAKABSZÁLLÁS (20 km on highway from KECSKEMÉT city)       (click).

FCI - scientific research concerning brachycephalic breeds.

We have all heard about the cooperation agreement that the FCI has made concerning BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome).   (click to open the page).

Although this initiative aims at contributing to the health of all Brachycephalic breeds while the Rottweiler's head is supposed to be of the mesocephalic type, it concerns us as it is no secret that BOAS has entered our breed too !   Worse even, I hear that in some countries, fashion motivated judging / breeding has even led to the understanding by cynologic authorities that the Rottweiler belongs to the brachycephalic breeds !

Publication of adaptions to the IFR Constitution and its regulations.

The adaptions to the IFR-Constitutions and it's regulations (World Show and World Championships) as decided upon by the Meeting of Delegates dd. 18.09.2019 have been published on our website and are immediately in force, therefore also for the next events in 2020.

New regulations for the IFR - show ... the World Winner is to be a complete working dog.

The Meeting of Delegates dd. 18.09.2019 has accepted an important adaption of the regulations of the IFR World Show.

The national and/or FCI show regulations that govern the show remain of course in order ... but from now on, a dog can be best male or female ... even best in show ... but if the dog did not pass the working test that will be organized prior to the show ... it will not obtain the title.of IFR World Winner !   Especially given the genetic stamp on the breed that the title may imply, the IFR wants to recognize and reward the complete Rottweiler, a utility breed.

Looking back on the IFR World Championships 2019 IGP and IFH.

Dear Rottweiler Friends,

I hope you all arrived home safe and well from our successful IFR-events in Denmark.

My sincere thanks to the Danish Rottweiler Club and its hard working team for its willingness to organize the event.  I know how much dedication and idealism it takes to do so and I offer you my honest compliments :  you ran a smooth event and allowed us to enjoy the Rottweiler in all his facets and this we certainly did !
