IFR Championship 2024
The IFR World Championship of IGP and IFH, from Monday 14th October to Saturday 19th in Jablonec, Slovakia is over.
The event was a success despite the windy but beautiful weather. Wind can sometimes be a challenge when tracking, but it worked well in most cases.
I am pleased to describe the organization of the IFR World Championship as first class. The organizational team, led by Director Marcel Hausknecht and his team, did an outstanding job. It should be mentioned as very positive that all participants found fair conditions, both on the track and in the stadium. The two protection helpers did a good job over the three days. The judges judged fairly and with a clear, tough concept.
There were questions about the tracking dog qualification. Although the FCI rules are clear, «a dog must be shown at the highest passed level», this rule was not understood by all teams and therefore not adhered to. The organizer, led by Marcel Hausknecht, was able to successfully solve the problems, to everyone's satisfaction.
The performance level of the tracking dogs and also of IGP A, B and C demonstrated many outstanding works. As I was there as a participant, I know how many hours of hard work are necessary for solid work. Yes, it takes good training methods, a good dog, and a bit of luck to achieve a good result. For some participants it worked better than for others.
The IFR congratulates the winners and wishes all Rottweiler friends continued successful sport.
I wish everyone a safe journey home/flight home and maybe we'll see each other in Hungary next year.
I hope that I see many delegates at the delegate meeting in Rottweil on November 2nd, 2024.
On behalf of the IFR Executive Board
